简介
The ICAM-5 protein functions as a ligand for the leukocyte adhesion protein LFA-1 (integrin α-L/β-2) and mediates the cell adhesion process. As a member of the ICAM family, ICAM-5 interacts with LFA-1 and is critical for immune cell adhesion and communication. ICAM-5 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived ICAM-5 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ICAM-5 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 5) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, primarily expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in neurons. It plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and neuronal development, influencing synaptic plasticity and signaling. As a significant player in neuroinflammatory processes, ICAM-5 has garnered attention for its potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis. The study of recombinant ICAM-5 protein has emerged as a pivotal area of research, enabling scientists to elucidate its structural and functional properties in detail. Recombinant proteins facilitate the exploration of ICAM-5's interactions with various ligands and receptors, providing insights into its mechanistic roles in neuronal networks and immune responses. Moreover, understanding the properties of ICAM-5 opens new avenues for therapeutic interventions targeting synaptic dysfunction and neuroinflammation. Researchers are investigating the potential of ICAM-5 as a biomarker for neurodegenerative conditions and assessing its utility in developing novel treatments aimed at modulating its activity in the CNS. The ongoing research on ICAM-5 recombinant protein holds promise for advancing our understanding of neuronal communication and developing strategies to combat neurodegeneration and related disorders.
