简介
MIP-3 alpha/CCL20 Protein, Rat (HEK293) is a CC chemokine that attracts lymphocytes and mild neutrophils by binding to and acting on the chemokine receptor CCR6. It induces intracellular calcium mobilization and mediates cancer, various autoimmune diseases, and antimicrobial effects. MIP-3 alpha/CCL20 Protein, Rat (HEK293) is a recombinant rat CCL20 (A26-M96) expressed by HEK293 cells[1].
- Application
-
Biological Activity
Measured by its ability to chemoattract BaF3 mouse pro B cells transfected with human CCR6. The ED50 for this effect is 1.739 μg/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 575.043 U/mg. Measured by its ability to chemoattract THP-1 human acute monocytic leukemia cells. The ED50 for this effect is 32.76 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 3.052×104 U/mg.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MIP-3 alpha, also known as CCL20, is a chemokine that plays a crucial role in immune responses by attracting specific types of immune cells, notably CD4+ T lymphocytes and dendritic cells, to sites of inflammation. It is primarily produced by epithelial and endothelial cells in response to various stimuli, including infections and inflammatory cytokines. The significance of CCL20 in the pathogenesis of several diseases, particularly in autoimmune conditions, cancer, and chronic inflammatory disorders, has spurred considerable research interest. Understanding the mechanisms by which CCL20 mediates immune cell migration and its interactions with CCR6, its sole receptor, is vital for unraveling its role in both health and disease. To investigate these processes, researchers have developed recombinant CCL20 proteins, which facilitate the exploration of its biological functions, signaling pathways, and potential therapeutic applications. By utilizing recombinant technology, scientists aim to determine how CCL20 contributes to disease progression and assess its utility as a target for drug development, potentially leading to novel treatments for conditions characterized by dysregulated immune responses. The ongoing studies on MIP-3 alpha/CCL20 continue to enhance our understanding of immune system dynamics and open new avenues for intervention in disease management.
