  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Semaphorin-4D (SEMA4D), a member of the semaphorin family, plays a critical role in various physiological and pathological processes, including immune response, neuronal development, and tumor progression. It functions primarily through its interaction with neuropilin and plexin receptors, influencing cell migration, proliferation, and apoptosis. Research has increasingly focused on the role of SEMA4D in cancer biology, where it has been shown to promote tumor growth, metastasis, and immune evasion by modulating the tumor microenvironment and inhibiting anti-tumor immunity. The overexpression of SEMA4D in several malignancies, such as breast cancer and melanoma, highlights its potential as a therapeutic target. Given its involvement in essential signaling pathways, recombinant SEMA4D proteins have become valuable tools for studying these mechanisms. Moreover, understanding the biological effects of SEMA4D through recombinant proteins can lead to novel therapeutic strategies, including blocking SEMA4D's interactions to enhance anti-tumor immunity and inhibit cancer progression. These insights could pave the way for innovative treatments, particularly in combination with existing immunotherapies. As research continues to elucidate the complex roles of SEMA4D, it remains a promising candidate for targeted therapies aimed at manipulating immune responses and improving clinical outcomes in cancer patients.
