  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Thrombospondin-2 (TSP-2) is a matrix glycoprotein belonging to the thrombospondin family, which plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and angiogenesis. It is predominantly expressed in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues and is involved in tissue remodeling and wound healing. Recent studies have revealed that TSP-2 is also implicated in modulating inflammatory responses and influencing tumor progression, making it a significant target for research in cancer biology and cardiovascular diseases. The recombinant form of TSP-2 has been developed to further investigate its biological functions and therapeutic potentials. By producing TSP-2 in a controlled, recombinant system, researchers aim to study its interactions with other extracellular matrix components and signaling pathways. These investigations can provide insights into its role in disease mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic applications, such as enhancing tissue repair, inhibiting tumor growth, or regulating the immune response. Understanding TSP-2’s multifaceted roles could lead to novel strategies in treating various pathologies linked to aberrant angiogenesis and tissue remodeling, thereby offering promising avenues for developing targeted therapies.
