Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COL2A1, the gene encoding type II collagen, plays a critical role in the structure and function of cartilage, making it essential for the integrity of both articular cartilage and intervertebral discs. Mutations in COL2A1 are associated with various skeletal disorders, including Achondrogenesis, Stickler syndrome, and other forms of osteoarthritis. The expression and functional analysis of recombinant COL2A1 protein have gained significant attention in biomedical research, as they allow for the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases. Such studies facilitate the understanding of collagen's role in cartilage development and degeneration, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets. Moreover, the ability to produce recombinant COL2A1 protein in a laboratory setting enables the development of novel biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications, aiming to repair or replace damaged cartilage. Overall, the research on COL2A1 recombinant protein is pivotal for elucidating collagen-related pathologies and advancing tissue regeneration strategies.
