Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    PDCD8/AIFM1

  • 简介

PDCD8/AIFM1 protein has the dual functions of NADH oxidoreductase and apoptosis regulator, and translocates from the mitochondrial intermembrane space to the cytoplasm and nucleus in response to apoptotic stimuli. It acts through a caspase-independent pathway, inducing “parthanatos” characterized by fragmentation of chromosomal DNA. PDCD8/AIFM1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived PDCD8/AIFM1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The study of PDCD8/AIFM1 recombinant protein has gained prominence due to its critical role in various biological processes, including apoptosis and developmental regulation. PDCD8, also known as AIFM1 (apoptosis-inducing factor mitochondria-associated 1), is a key protein involved in mediating apoptosis through its involvement in mitochondrial signaling pathways. Understanding the function and mechanisms of PDCD8/AIFM1 is essential for elucidating the intricacies of cell death and survival, which have implications in cancer therapy, neurodegenerative diseases, and other pathologies. The recombination of PDCD8/AIFM1 allows for the production of the protein in a controlled environment, enabling detailed studies on its structure-function relationships. This research not only provides insights into the fundamental mechanisms of apoptosis but also facilitates the exploration of potential therapeutic strategies targeting PDCD8/AIFM1. By examining the protein's interactions and regulatory pathways, scientists aim to uncover novel insights into its contribution to diseases where apoptosis plays a pivotal role, ultimately paving the way for innovative treatments and interventions.
