  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ADAM12 (A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease 12) is a member of the ADAM family, which consists of membrane-anchored metalloproteases characterized by their disintegrin and metalloproteinase domains. Its expression is prominently observed during embryonic development and in various pathological conditions, particularly in cancer. Researchers are increasingly interested in ADAM12 due to its roles in cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation, which are critical processes in tumor progression and metastasis. The enzyme is also involved in the cleavage of various substrates, including growth factors and receptors, influencing signaling pathways that govern cellular behavior. Studies have shown that elevated levels of ADAM12 are associated with aggressive tumor phenotypes and poor patient prognosis in several cancer types, making it a potential biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. The investigation into recombinant ADAM12 proteins aims to elucidate their structural and functional characteristics, thereby providing insights into their biochemical properties and potential therapeutic applications. Understanding ADAM12's mechanism of action could lead to the development of targeted therapies that inhibit its function, offering new avenues for treating cancer and other ADAM12-related diseases. Overall, the study of recombinant ADAM12 proteins is vital for uncovering the complexities of its roles in health and disease, paving the way for innovative strategies in regenerative medicine and oncology.
