The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • 保存条件 & 期限

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • 运输条件

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PCSK9 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin type 9) is a key regulator of cholesterol metabolism, primarily by modulating the levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors on the surface of hepatocytes. Elevated levels of PCSK9 result in reduced LDL receptor availability, leading to increased LDL cholesterol levels in the bloodstream, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Research into PCSK9 has gained momentum due to the discovery of genetic mutations that either increase or decrease its activity, providing insights into its role in lipid metabolism. The development of PCSK9 inhibitors represents a promising therapeutic strategy for managing hypercholesterolemia and reducing cardiovascular risks, especially in patients who are resistant to conventional lipid-lowering therapies. Recombinant PCSK9 proteins have been utilized in various experimental setups to better understand its function and interactions within cholesterol homeostasis. These studies aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which PCSK9 affects LDL receptor processing and recycling, contributing to the design of targeted treatments that disrupt the PCSK9-LDL receptor interaction. As a result, the field of cardiovascular research is increasingly focused on elucidating the complex pathways involving PCSK9, with the ultimate goal of translating these findings into effective clinical interventions that lower cholesterol levels and improve patient outcomes. In summary, the study of recombinant PCSK9 proteins is pivotal in advancing our understanding of cholesterol regulation and the potential for innovative therapies in the fight against cardiovascular diseases.
