简介
PGD Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is a homodimeric protein, with an N-terminal His tag. Recombinant Human PGD, His (HEK293-expressed) is a key enzyme that converts 6-phosphogluconate into ribulose-5-phosphate with NADP+ as cofactor in the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP)[1].

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PGD (phosphogluconate dehydrogenase) is an enzyme that plays a pivotal role in the pentose phosphate pathway, a critical metabolic pathway responsible for producing NADPH and ribose-5-phosphate, which are essential for cellular energy metabolism and nucleotide synthesis. The study of PGD recombinant proteins has gained traction due to its potential applications in various biotechnological and medical fields, including cancer research and metabolic disorders. Abnormal PGD activity has been linked to several diseases, including certain types of cancers, where altered metabolic processes can lead to increased cell proliferation and survival. Therefore, understanding PGD’s structure and function at a molecular level through recombinant protein technology can provide insights into its role in disease mechanisms and facilitate the development of targeted therapies. Moreover, the ability to produce PGD as a recombinant protein enables researchers to investigate its enzymatic properties, regulation, and interactions with other cellular components. This research not only enhances our understanding of PGD's biological significance but also opens avenues for the design of inhibitors or modulators that could be employed in therapeutic settings. In summary, the exploration of PGD recombinant proteins represents a promising avenue for advancing our knowledge of metabolic regulation and developing novel interventions for related diseases.
