简介
PGM2 Protein is a protein of the alpha-d-phosphohexomutase family. PGM2 has phosphopentomutase activity, that is involved in carbohydrate metabolic process and deoxyribose phosphate catabolic process. The high expression of PGM2 can improve the overall survival rate of patients and have an inhibitory effect on tumors. PGM2 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived PGM2 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PGM2, or Phosphoglucomutase 2, is a crucial enzyme involved in carbohydrate metabolism, specifically in the interconversion of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate. This enzyme plays a significant role in glycogen synthesis and degradation, thereby influencing energy metabolism in mammalian cells. Research on PGM2 has gained attention due to its potential implications in various metabolic disorders, including diabetes and glycogen storage diseases. Moreover, altered expression of PGM2 has been linked to certain cancerous conditions, highlighting its importance in cell growth and proliferation. Understanding the structure and function of recombinant PGM2 can provide insights into its catalytic mechanisms and regulatory pathways. This knowledge is essential for developing therapeutic strategies to target metabolic dysregulations associated with PGM2. Additionally, recombinant PGM2 is valuable in industrial applications, including biofuel production and enzyme-based assays. The study of PGM2 not only enhances our understanding of metabolic pathways but also offers prospects for biotechnological advancements, making it a significant focus of current biochemical research.
