Carboxypeptidase A1/CPA1

简介
Carboxypeptidase A1 (CPA1) is an enzyme responsible for catalyzing the release of a C-terminal amino acid; however, it exhibits limited or no activity with residues such as -Asp, -Glu, -Arg, -Lys, or -Pro. This specificity in substrate recognition underscores its role as a carboxypeptidase with selectivity towards certain amino acid sequences at the C-terminus of peptides. Carboxypeptidase A1/CPA1 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived Carboxypeptidase A1/CPA1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Carboxypeptidase A1 (CPA1) is a crucial enzyme involved in the digestion of proteins in the pancreas. It primarily functions as an exopeptidase, cleaving amino acids from the carboxyl terminal of peptides. Research into CPA1 has gained significance due to its implications in various physiological processes and potential roles in diseases, including pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. Furthermore, CPA1 is of interest in biotechnology and pharmaceutical applications, where it can be used in protein engineering and as a therapeutic target. The recombinant form of CPA1 allows for extensive studies on its structural and functional characteristics, offering insights into its enzymatic mechanisms and interactions with substrates. The production of recombinant CPA1 not only facilitates a better understanding of its biological functions but also aids in exploring its potential as a biomarker for disease diagnosis and prognosis. Additionally, studies on CPA1 provide a platform for developing inhibitors or modulators that can be beneficial in managing conditions related to exocrine pancreatic dysfunction. As such, research on CPA1 recombinant protein continues to be a dynamic field with broad implications in health and disease management.
