  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Histone H4 is a crucial protein component of the nucleosome, the fundamental unit of chromatin structure, and plays a significant role in the regulation of DNA packaging and gene expression. The study of recombinant histone H4 has gained prominence in the fields of molecular biology and epigenetics, as it provides insights into chromatin dynamics and the mechanisms of gene regulation. Recombinant proteins, including histone H4, can be produced using various expression systems, allowing researchers to manipulate their post-translational modifications and study their effects on chromatin structure and function. Post-translational modifications of histones, such as acetylation, methylation, and phosphorylation, are critical for determining the accessibility of DNA to transcription factors and, consequently, for regulating gene expression. Moreover, understanding the interactions between histone H4 and other nuclear factors, including histone chaperones and transcription factors, is essential for elucidating the complex regulatory networks that govern cellular processes, including differentiation, development, and response to environmental cues. The ability to study recombinant histone H4 in vitro also facilitates the development of assays to investigate histone modifications and their impacts on cellular functions. As a result, the research on histone H4 and its recombinant forms contributes significantly to our understanding of epigenetic regulation and its implications in various biological contexts, including cancer, developmental biology, and aging. This research holds promise for therapeutic interventions that target epigenetic modifications and improve our understanding of chromatin biology.
