  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KPNA2 (Karyopherin alpha 2), a member of the karyopherin family, plays a crucial role in the nuclear transport system by mediating the import of proteins containing nuclear localization signals (NLS) into the nucleus. Its aberrant expression has been implicated in various cancers, particularly in breast and prostate cancers, suggesting that KPNA2 could be a potential biomarker for tumor progression and a target for therapeutic intervention. In recent studies, KPNA2 has been found to interact with several oncogenic proteins, contributing to the dysregulation of cell signaling pathways that promote tumor development and metastasis. Understanding the functional mechanisms of KPNA2, particularly through the use of recombinant protein studies, can shed light on its role in cancer biology. Research efforts have focused on cloning, expressing, and characterizing KPNA2 to delineate its interactions and provide insights into its functional roles within the cell. This research not only enhances our understanding of nuclear transport mechanisms but also paves the way for developing novel strategies in cancer therapy aimed at targeting KPNA2. As a result, the study of KPNA2 recombinant protein is vital for elucidating its biological functions and potential applications in clinical settings.
