简介
GPT2 protein is predicted by L-alanine:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase activity and is involved in insulin response, gluconeogenesis, and testosterone response. It is located in the extracellular space and mitochondria, is a biomarker for type 2 diabetes, and is orthologous to human GPT2. GPT2 Protein, Rat (sf9, His) is the recombinant rat-derived GPT2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The study of GPT2 (Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase 2) recombinant protein is rooted in its crucial role in amino acid metabolism, particularly in the transamination process between glutamate and pyruvate, which is essential for regulating glucose and energy homeostasis in cells. GPT2 is predominantly expressed in the liver, where it contributes to gluconeogenesis and nitrogen metabolism. Given the increasing incidence of metabolic disorders, such as obesity and diabetes, there is a growing interest in understanding the regulatory mechanisms of enzymes like GPT2. The production of recombinant GPT2 allows researchers to obtain large quantities of the protein for detailed biochemical analysis, structural studies, and enzyme kinetics, facilitating the exploration of its cellular functions and interactions. Furthermore, generating GPT2 in a recombinant system enables the study of site-specific mutations, which can elucidate the enzyme's functional domains and regulatory pathways. As such, research on recombinant GPT2 not only enhances our understanding of basic metabolic processes but also opens avenues for potential therapeutic interventions targeting metabolic diseases, highlighting the significance of this protein in both health and disease contexts.
