简介
Outer membrane protein C (OmpC) acts as a pore-forming protein that facilitates the passive diffusion of small molecules across the bacterial outer membrane. Notably, in Klebsiella pneumoniae, OmpC has been shown to bind the C1Q component and activate the classical pathway of the complement system. Outer membrane protein C/OmpC Protein, Klebsiella pneumoniae (His, myc) is the recombinant Outer membrane protein C/OmpC protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-10*His, C-Myc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Outer membrane protein C (OmpC) is an essential component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, primarily serving as a porin that facilitates the transport of small molecules across the membrane. Research on recombinant OmpC has gained significant attention due to its potential applications in vaccine development, antibiotic resistance studies, and as a model for membrane protein research. The protein's role in maintaining bacterial integrity and its involvement in pathogenesis make it a critical target for understanding bacterial physiology and developing antibacterial strategies. Advances in recombinant DNA technology have enabled the production of OmpC in different expression systems, allowing for detailed structural and functional analyses. These studies are crucial for elucidating the mechanisms of substrate specificity, membrane integration, and interaction with other cellular components. Additionally, the exploration of OmpC's immunogenic properties has opened avenues for its use in vaccine formulations against infections caused by pathogenic bacteria. Overall, the research on OmpC not only enhances our comprehension of bacterial behavior but also paves the way for innovative therapeutic approaches in combating antibiotic-resistant strains and bacterial infections.
