Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MMP-13, or Matrix Metalloproteinase-13, is a critical enzyme involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix components, particularly collagens, which play essential roles in tissue remodeling and repair. It is primarily expressed in cartilage and is crucial for maintaining joint health; however, its overexpression is associated with various pathological conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and certain cancers. Research into MMP-13 has gained momentum due to its potential as a therapeutic target for these diseases. The recombinant protein version of MMP-13 allows for detailed studies of its structure-function relationships, regulation, and interaction with other proteins, providing insights into its role in disease processes. Moreover, the development of MMP-13 inhibitors holds promise for treating degenerative diseases and preventing cancer metastasis. Understanding MMP-13's activity through recombinant protein studies can pave the way for novel drug discovery and development, underscoring the importance of this enzyme in medical research and therapeutic interventions.
