Gene name
Casein Kinase I alpha
-
简介
Casein kinase I α is a member of casein kinases that exhibits a preference for phosphorylation of acidic proteins such as casein. It phosphorylates many substrates, including CTNNB1 at "Ser-45" involved in Wnt signaling. Casein Kinase I alpha Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived Casein Kinase I alpha protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Casein Kinase I alpha (CK1α) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, and circadian rhythms. It is involved in several signaling pathways, such as the Wnt and Hedgehog pathways, which are pivotal in development and cancer progression. Dysregulation of CK1α has been linked to numerous diseases, particularly cancer, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention. The study of recombinant CK1α proteins has gained significant interest due to their potential in elucidating the protein's function, studying its enzymatic mechanisms, and screening for inhibitors. By producing CK1α through recombinant DNA technology, researchers can obtain large quantities of the protein, allowing for detailed biochemical and structural studies. Understanding the regulation and activity of CK1α at a molecular level is essential for developing CK1α-targeted therapies and investigating its role in various pathological conditions. This research not only enhances our knowledge of CK1α's biological functions but also paves the way for innovative strategies in drug design and development in the context of cancer and other diseases.
