  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PLTP (phospholipid transfer protein) is a crucial protein involved in the metabolism of lipoproteins and plays a significant role in lipid transport and homeostasis. Initially identified for its ability to transfer phospholipids between lipoprotein particles, PLTP has garnered attention due to its implications in various cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and inflammation. Research has shown that PLTP is linked to the modulation of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels and, consequently, affects cholesterol efflux and reverse cholesterol transport, key processes in atheroprotection. Understanding the structure-function relationship of PLTP and its mechanism is essential for developing potential therapeutic strategies targeting dyslipidemia and related conditions. Moreover, as a therapeutic target, recombinant PLTP is being explored for its potential in enhancing HDL functionality and improving lipid profiles. The focus of current studies encompasses the optimization of recombinant PLTP production, characterization, and evaluation of its biological activities, aiming to elucidate its role in lipid metabolism and to unlock its potential applications in clinical settings. This research not only enhances our understanding of lipid biology but also opens avenues for novel interventions in cardiovascular health.
