  • Gene name

    CLIC1

  • 简介

The CLIC1 protein exhibits specific lysophospholipase activity and plays a critical role in mediating cellular responses to oxidative stress. As a member of the chloride intracellular channel family, CLIC1 is involved in a variety of physiological processes, including cell volume regulation, membrane potential regulation, and regulation of cell cycle progression. CLIC1 Protein, Human (N-His) is the recombinant human-derived CLIC1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CLIC1 (Chloride Intracellular Channel 1) is a member of the CLIC family of proteins, which are known for their chloride channel activity and involvement in various physiological and pathological processes. The protein is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and has been implicated in critical cellular functions, including regulation of cell volume, intracellular signaling, and apoptosis. Research has shown that CLIC1 plays a role in cancer biology, as its expression levels can influence tumor growth and metastasis. Dysregulation of CLIC1 has been associated with various cancers, including breast, prostate, and lung cancer, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. To explore its functional properties and therapeutic potential, CLIC1 can be expressed as a recombinant protein. This enables detailed biochemical and biophysical characterizations, such as studying its ion channel activity and interaction with other cellular proteins. Understanding the structures and dynamics of CLIC1 through recombinant forms can provide insights into its mechanisms of action and facilitate the development of targeted therapies. Given its diverse roles in health and disease, CLIC1 continues to be a focal point of research in cell biology, pharmacology, and oncology.
