Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    CDK6-CCND2 Heterodimer

  • 简介

The CDK6ic complex is an important serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates cell cycle progression and differentiation, promoting the G1/S transition by phosphorylating substrates such as pRB/RB1 and NPM1. It interacts with D-type G1 cyclins during interphase to form active pRB/RB1 kinase, which controls cell cycle entry. CDK6-CCND2 Heterodimer Protein, Human (sf9, GST, FLAG, His) is a recombinant protein dimer complex containing human-derived CDK6-CCND2 Heterodimer protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-Flag, N-8*His, N-GST labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The CDK6-CCND2 heterodimer has garnered significant attention in cancer research due to its critical role in regulating cell cycle progression. Cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) is a serine/threonine kinase that, when paired with cyclin D2 (CCND2), facilitates the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase of the cell cycle. This transition is crucial for cellular proliferation, and aberrations in this mechanism can lead to uncontrolled cell division, a hallmark of cancer. Various studies have shown that dysregulation of CDK6 and CCND2 is associated with several malignancies, including leukemia and solid tumors. As a result, targeting this heterodimer presents a promising strategy for developing novel cancer therapies. Researchers are increasingly focusing on characterizing the structural and functional properties of the CDK6-CCND2 complex to understand its interactions with other cell cycle regulators and signaling pathways. Moreover, the production of recombinant CDK6-CCND2 proteins allows for in-depth biochemical assays, facilitating the identification of small-molecule inhibitors that could effectively disrupt its function. This research aims to elucidate the specific roles of CDK6 and CCND2 in tumorigenesis, ultimately contributing to the development of targeted therapeutic interventions that may improve clinical outcomes in cancer patients.
