  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

gp130, also known as CD130 or IL-6 receptor beta, is a crucial component of the interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling pathway, which plays a significant role in the immune response, inflammation, and hematopoiesis. As a signal transducer, gp130 forms a functional receptor complex with IL-6 receptor (IL-6R) and initiates intracellular signaling cascades, primarily through the activation of Janus kinases (JAKs) and the subsequent phosphorylation of signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) proteins. Dysregulation of this pathway is implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory states, and malignancies. Recombinant forms of gp130 have been extensively studied for their potential therapeutic applications, including acting as competitive antagonists to inhibit IL-6 signaling in pathological conditions. Moreover, gp130 has emerged as a promising target for drug development due to its central role in modulating cytokine networks. Understanding the structure and function of recombinant gp130 is essential for elucidating its role in disease mechanisms and for optimizing therapeutic strategies. Researchers continue to investigate its interactions with other proteins and its influence on cellular responses, aiming to leverage this knowledge for innovative treatment approaches against a range of immune-related diseases.
