  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CD228, also known as MFI2 (Macrophage Fusion Inhibitory Protein 2), is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and plays a crucial role in immune response regulation, particularly in the context of macrophage activation and fusion. Research into CD228/MFI2 has gained momentum due to its potential implications in various diseases, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infections. This protein participates in cell-cell interactions that are vital for immune cell signaling and the modulation of inflammatory responses. Its unique expression pattern on leukocytes and involvement in macrophage biology make it a significant target for therapeutic interventions. Recent studies have focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying CD228/MFI2 function and its interactions with other immune modulators, thereby revealing its potential as a biomarker for disease progression and a novel target for immunotherapy. Understanding the roles of CD228 in various physiological and pathological contexts may pave the way for innovative approaches to enhance immune responses or inhibit pathological processes driven by aberrant macrophage activity. Thus, research on CD228/MFI2 recombinant protein is not only essential for basic immunology but also for the development of targeted therapies that harness the body's immune system to combat diseases.
