    The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

    Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in the regulation of neuronal development and function. Unlike other cyclin-dependent kinases that are primarily involved in cell cycle regulation, CDK5 is activated by association with non-cyclin proteins, particularly p35 and p39, which are neuron-specific activators. Dysregulation of CDK5 activity has been implicated in various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy, highlighting its importance in maintaining neuronal health. Research has documented that aberrant CDK5 activity, often resulting from the cleavage of its activators, leads to hyperphosphorylation of tau protein and subsequent neurofibrillary tangles—a hallmark of Alzheimer's pathology. Furthermore, CDK5 is involved in multiple signaling pathways that affect neuronal cell functions, such as synaptic plasticity, neuronal migration, and apoptosis. Therefore, understanding the regulatory mechanisms of CDK5 and its interactions with other molecular players is vital for developing therapeutic strategies aimed at alleviating the consequences of its dysregulation. Current studies focus on elucidating the structure-function relationships of CDK5, identifying potential small-molecule inhibitors, and exploring its role in synaptic function and neuronal survival, which may pave the way for innovative treatments targeting CDK5-related disorders.
