  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Transmembrane protease serine 4 (TMPRSS4) is a type of serine protease that plays a significant role in various physiological and pathological processes, including cellular signaling, tissue remodeling, and viral entry into host cells. Research into TMPRSS4 has gained momentum due to its involvement in several diseases, such as cancer and viral infections. For instance, TMPRSS4 has been implicated in facilitating the entry of viruses like the influenza virus and coronaviruses, making it a potential target for antiviral therapies. Additionally, its overexpression has been linked to poor prognosis in several cancers, indicating its potential as a biomarker for disease progression. To better understand its function and develop targeted therapies, recombinant TMPRSS4 proteins are being produced and studied. These recombinant proteins enable researchers to analyze the biochemical properties, substrate specificity, and therapeutic potential of TMPRSS4 in vitro and in vivo. By elucidating the mechanisms through which TMPRSS4 operates, scientists aim to uncover novel treatment strategies that could mitigate its role in disease progression and enhance therapeutic efficacy against viral pathogens. Such studies contribute to the broader field of protease research and hold promise for developing targeted interventions in diseases where TMPRSS4 is a critical player.
