简介
Apolipoprotein E/APOE is a key molecule linking lipid metabolism and neurological function. Apolipoprotein E/APOE gene polymorphisms are closely associated with diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and atherosclerosis by influencing protein structure and function. Apolipoprotein E/APOE Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is a recombinant APOE protein expressed in HEK293 cells, with a C-6*His tag[1][2][3].

Biological Activity
1. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using SH-SY5Y Human neuroblastoma cells. The ED50 this effect is 15-50 ng/mL. 2. Mouse TREM-2 immobilized on CM5 Chip can bind Mouse APOE with an affinity constant of 3.595 nM as determined in a SPR assay. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using SH-SY5Y Human neuroblastoma cells. The ED50 for this effect is 41.72 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity is 2.39×104 units/mg.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
APOE (Apolipoprotein E) is a critical protein involved in lipid metabolism and neuronal repair, with significant implications in cardiovascular health and neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The APOE gene has three major alleles (ε2, ε3, and ε4), with the ε4 variant recognized as a major genetic risk factor for AD. Studies have shown that individuals with the ε4 allele demonstrate a higher propensity for amyloid plaque accumulation, neuroinflammation, and cognitive decline, while the ε2 allele offers some protective effects. Given its dual role in lipid transport and neuroprotection, recombinant forms of APOE, particularly those containing the ε4 and ε2 variants, have garnered interest for their potential therapeutic applications. Researchers have been investigating the structure-function relationships of these recombinant proteins to elucidate their roles in lipid metabolism and neuroprotective mechanisms. The goal is to develop targeted interventions that could mitigate the pathological effects associated with APOE ε4, such as enhancing synaptic repair or modulating inflammation. By creating and studying recombinant APOE proteins, scientists aim to gain deeper insights into the molecular pathways influenced by APOE variants, potentially leading to novel therapeutic strategies to treat or prevent neurodegenerative disorders linked to APOE polymorphisms. This research is not only crucial for understanding the biological functions of APOE but also for devising effective interventions for individuals at higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.
