Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC5A8, a member of the solute carrier family of transporters, plays a pivotal role in the transport of various solutes, including monocarboxylates and short-chain fatty acids, across cell membranes. This protein is particularly notable for its involvement in the uptake of certain metabolites that might influence cellular energy homeostasis and signaling. Research has increasingly highlighted the potential implications of SLC5A8 in various physiological processes and diseases, including cancer, where its expression levels can impact tumor growth and progression. Additionally, SLC5A8 has been studied for its role in neuroprotection and metabolic disorders, making it a protein of significant interest for therapeutic interventions. The production of recombinant SLC5A8 protein is essential for elucidating its structural and functional properties, as well as understanding its mechanisms of action. Through the generation of recombinant forms of SLC5A8, researchers aim to explore its substrate specificity, transport kinetics, and potential regulatory pathways, with the goal of identifying novel targets for drug development and therapeutic strategies in related diseases. Overall, the study of recombinant SLC5A8 protein not only advances our knowledge of this transporter’s biological functions but also opens avenues for innovative approaches to tackle various health challenges.
