Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    KARS

  • 简介

The KARS protein promotes attachment of amino acids to its cognate tRNA through a two-step reaction, inducing immune responses through monocyte/macrophage activation. In microbial infections, it interacts with the HIV-1 GAG protein to enable selective tRNA(3)(Lys) packaging to initiate reverse transcription. KARS Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived KARS protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KARS, or lysyl-tRNA synthetase, plays a crucial role in protein synthesis by catalyzing the attachment of lysine to its corresponding tRNA, thus facilitating the translation of genetic information into proteins. Beyond its fundamental role in translation, KARS has emerged as a key player in various cellular processes, including inflammation, immune response, and cellular signaling pathways. Research into KARS has intensified due to its association with several diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, where it can exhibit aberrant expression or function. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of KARS as a therapeutic target, as its inhibition could disrupt pathogenic pathways and offer new avenues for treatment. The development of recombinant KARS proteins allows for detailed structural and functional studies, enabling researchers to investigate its mechanism of action and interactions at the molecular level. Moreover, these studies can facilitate the design of small molecules or peptides that modulate KARS activity, ultimately contributing to innovative therapeutic strategies. Thus, KARS and its recombinant forms represent a promising frontier in understanding and targeting complex diseases at the biochemical level, underscoring the importance of this enzyme in both basic and applied biomedical research.
