  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CEP55, or Centrosomal Protein 55, is an essential component in the process of cytokinesis, the final stage of cell division, where the cytoplasm of a parental cell is divided into two daughter cells. Researchers have increasingly focused on CEP55 due to its critical role in ensuring proper cell division and its implications in various diseases, particularly cancer. Abnormal expression levels of CEP55 have been correlated with tumorigenesis and cancer progression, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. The protein functions through interactions with several key regulators of cytokinesis, such as the septins and other cytoskeletal proteins, which helps maintain the structural integrity of the dividing cell. Additionally, CEP55 is also involved in the regulation of the mitotic spindle assembly and cell cycle progression, indicating its multifaceted role in cell biology. As understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying CEP55 function continues to evolve, researchers are investigating its potential applications in targeted cancer therapies and diagnostic tools, thus highlighting its significance in both fundamental research and clinical settings. The development of recombinant CEP55 protein has facilitated studies on its structure-function relationship and its interactions with other cellular components, paving the way for advancements in cancer research and therapeutic interventions.
