Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) is a critical component in the regulation of energy homeostasis and appetite, playing a significant role in the central nervous system's control of feeding behavior. Dysfunction or mutations in the MC4R gene are closely associated with obesity and metabolic disorders, making it a crucial target for understanding the underlying mechanisms of these conditions. Research on MC4R has gained prominence due to its potential implications in obesity management and therapeutic strategies. The receptor primarily responds to melanocyte-stimulating hormones and has been shown to influence various physiological processes, including thermogenesis and lipid metabolism. Recent studies have focused on the structural and functional characterization of MC4R, leading to the development of recombinant protein forms that allow for in-depth analysis of its signaling pathways. By expressing and purifying these recombinant forms, researchers aim to elucidate the receptor's interaction with ligands and downstream signaling partners, providing insight into its role in appetite regulation and energy expenditure. Advances in this area may pave the way for novel treatments for obesity and related metabolic disorders, underscoring the importance of MC4R in modern biomedical research.
