Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Claudin-18/CLDN18.1 Protein-VLP

  • 简介

Claudin-18/CLDN18.1 Protein-VLP, Human (HEK293, mCherry) is recommended for animal immunization, ELISA. It is not recommended for receptor-ligand interaction detection and SPR/BLI assay since there are other irrelevant membrane proteins of the host on the VLP envelope, and the receptor-ligand interaction will have strong background interference. High requirements for chips and experimental protocols are needed for SPR/BLI assays. If VLP control is required, it is recommended HY-P701236. Tags can only be detected under denaturing conditions.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Claudin-18 is a tight junction protein predominantly expressed in the gastric epithelium and plays a vital role in maintaining cell polarity and barrier function. Its specific isoform, CLDN18.1, is particularly noteworthy due to its significant upregulation in gastric cancer cells, making it a promising target for novel therapeutic strategies and diagnostics. Research has shown that the presence of CLDN18.1 in tumors can serve as a biomarker for early detection of gastric cancer. Consequently, the development of Claudin-18/CLDN18.1 protein-based vaccines and targeted therapies has gained momentum. Recombinant protein VLPs (Virus-Like Particles) representing this protein are being explored as innovative platforms for immunotherapy, offering the potential to elicit strong immune responses against tumors expressing CLDN18.1 while minimizing off-target effects. The precise structural properties of VLPs advantageously mimic viruses, enhancing their ability to stimulate both humoral and cellular immunity. The ongoing research aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of such biopharmaceuticals in preclinical and clinical settings, with the hope of improving outcomes for patients diagnosed with gastric cancer. This convergence of cancer immunology and molecular biology represents a significant advancement in developing targeted cancer therapies based on the unique characteristics of tumor-associated proteins.
