Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ABCB5 (ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member 5) is a crucial member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, primarily involved in the efflux of a variety of substrates, including drugs and toxins, across cellular membranes. ABCB5 has garnered attention for its role in cancer biology, particularly in the context of cancer stem cells, where it contributes to drug resistance by expelling chemotherapeutic agents from cells. Its expression is often upregulated in various tumors, linking it to poor prognosis and treatment failure in cancers such as melanoma and breast cancer. Research on ABCB5 recombinant proteins has focused on elucidating their functional mechanisms, potential as biomarkers, and roles in tumorigenesis. By generating and characterizing recombinant ABCB5, scientists aim to better understand its structure-function relationships and interactions with substrates, which could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting drug-resistant cancers. Additionally, studies on ABCB5 may provide insights into its potential use in gene therapies or targeted delivery systems that enhance the efficacy of existing treatments by overcoming the challenges posed by multidrug resistance. Overall, the exploration of ABCB5 reaffirms its significance in cancer research and highlights the need for innovative approaches to combat drug resistance in malignant diseases.
