简介
GPNMB, also known as osteoactivin, is a protein thought to have a potential role as a melanin-producing enzyme. Melanogenic enzymes are involved in the production of melanin, the pigment that determines skin, hair and eye color. GPNMB/Osteoactivin Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived GPNMB/Osteoactivin protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
GPNMB, also known as Osteoactivin, is a glycoprotein that plays a significant role in various biological processes, including bone remodeling, inflammation, and cancer progression. Initially identified for its involvement in osteoblast differentiation and function, GPNMB has gained attention for its diverse functions in different tissues, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target. Research indicates that GPNMB is overexpressed in several malignancies, including melanoma and breast cancer, where it correlates with poor prognosis and metastasis. This has prompted investigations into the molecular mechanisms underlying GPNMB's role in tumor biology, revealing its involvement in promoting cell survival, migration, and immune evasion. Furthermore, studies have demonstrated that GPNMB exerts regulatory effects on the immune system, contributing to the outcomes of autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammation. The recombinant production of GPNMB offers an opportunity to investigate its bioactivity more thoroughly and to explore its therapeutic potential. By generating and characterizing recombinant GPNMB, researchers aim to elucidate its role in pathological conditions and evaluate its utility as a biomarker or a target for novel therapeutic strategies. Understanding the structure-function relationship of GPNMB/Osteoactivin through recombinant protein studies can provide insights into its mechanisms of action and pave the way for interventions that modulate its effects in diseases. Overall, the ongoing research on recombinant GPNMB/Osteoactivin is essential for developing targeted therapies and improving patient outcomes in conditions associated with altered GPNMB expression.
