  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The S100A8 and S100A9 proteins, part of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins, play critical roles in inflammation and an array of pathological processes, including cancer and autoimmune diseases. As they form a heterodimeric complex known as calprotectin, S100A8 and S100A9 are primarily expressed in myeloid cells, such as neutrophils and monocytes, where they are involved in immune response regulation, pathogen recognition, and cell migration. Research has demonstrated that elevated levels of S100A8-S100A9 are associated with various inflammatory conditions, making them potential biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prognosis. Additionally, their function in mediating cellular signaling pathways highlights their importance in modulating inflammation and tissue remodeling. Given their significant roles in immune responses and disease progression, recombinant S100A8-S100A9 proteins are being actively studied. These studies aim to understand their structural properties, biological activities, and interactions with other molecular players. By utilizing recombinant technology, researchers can produce large quantities of these proteins for detailed biochemical and biophysical analyses, as well as potential therapeutic applications. This area of research is particularly promising for identifying novel anti-inflammatory strategies and advancing our understanding of the underlying mechanisms of diseases linked to S100A8-S100A9 dysregulation.
