简介
AIM2 Protein, a member of the IFI20X/IFI16 family, exhibits potential regulatory functions in cell proliferation and tumorigenic reversion. Induced by interferon-gamma, AIM2 plays a key role in immune responses. Notably expressed in tissues like lymph node and appendix, AIM2 is a significant player in diverse cellular processes and immune-related functions. AIM2 Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived AIM2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AIM2 (Absent in Melanoma 2) is a cytosolic DNA sensor that plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by detecting foreign DNA in the cytoplasm, such as that from viruses and bacteria. Its activation leads to an inflammatory response through the formation of inflammasomes, which are multi-protein complexes that activate caspase-1 and promote the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β and IL-18. Research into AIM2 has gained momentum due to its implications in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders, cancer, and inflammatory diseases. Recombinant AIM2 protein studies are essential for understanding the structural and functional mechanisms of this sensor, as well as for exploring its potential as a therapeutic target. The ability to produce AIM2 as a recombinant protein allows for detailed biochemical studies, including its interactions with nucleic acids, other immune signaling molecules, and cellular pathways. Furthermore, characterizing AIM2’s role in inflammation and pathogen recognition can provide insights into how the immune system distinguishes between self and non-self DNA, enhancing our comprehension of dysregulation in immune responses. Hence, the research on AIM2 recombinant protein not only contributes to basic immunology but also holds promise for developing novel therapeutic strategies against a range of inflammatory and infectious diseases.
