    IL-32 protein is a member of the cytokine family whose expression increases following T cell activation or IL-2-induced NK cell activation. It plays a key role in inducing macrophages to produce TNFα, which contributes to the inflammatory response.     Measured by its ability to induce TNF-alpha secretion by RAW 264.7 mouse monocyte/macrophage cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.5-3 μg/mL in the presence of 5 μg/mL MDP. Measured by its ability to induce TNF-alpha secretion by RAW 264.7 mouse monocyte/macrophage cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1.398 μg/mL in the presence of 5μg/mL MDP. Corresponding to a specific activity is 715.308 U/mg.
