简介
IZUMO4 protein is a member of IZUMO family, and is usually expressed in testis, mature spermatozoa and nonreproductive tissues. IZUMO4 is involved in sperm-egg membrane fusion. Notably, IZUMO4 lacks a transmembrane domain[1][2][3]. IZUMO4 Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant human-derived IZUMO4 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
IZUMO4 is a recently identified member of the IZUMO family, which is crucial for sperm-egg fusion during fertilization. Its unique role in gamete interaction has garnered attention in reproductive biology, particularly as infertility rates rise globally. Previous studies have established the importance of IZUMO proteins in the binding of sperm to the egg, but the specific functions and mechanisms of IZUMO4 remain poorly understood. Recent advancements in molecular biology techniques have enabled researchers to explore the structural and functional properties of this protein. Through the use of recombinant protein expression systems, scientists aim to produce IZUMO4 in sufficient quantities for detailed biochemical analyses. Understanding the interactions of IZUMO4 with egg surface receptors and its potential signaling pathways could provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying fertilization. Moreover, elucidating the role of IZUMO4 may have implications for developing novel contraceptive methods, as well as new therapeutic strategies for infertility treatments. With the potential to unlock new avenues in reproductive health, research on IZUMO4 is poised to offer significant contributions to our understanding of gamete biology.
