简介
The EGFRvIII protein is a transmembrane glycoprotein in the protein kinase superfamily that acts as a receptor for epidermal growth factor. It acts on the cell surface, binds to epidermal growth factor, triggers receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation, and promotes cell proliferation. EGFR vIII Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived EGFR vIII protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
EGFRvIII is a variant of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) that is commonly overexpressed in various types of cancers, particularly in glioblastomas. Unlike the wild-type EGFR, EGFRvIII contains a mutation that results in a truncated extracellular domain, leading to constitutive activation of downstream signaling pathways associated with cell proliferation, survival, and invasion. This aberrant signaling contributes to tumorigenesis and resistance to conventional therapies, making EGFRvIII an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy. Research efforts have focused on characterizing the unique structural and functional properties of EGFRvIII, as well as developing recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies that can specifically recognize and bind to this variant. These studies aim to understand the biological implications of EGFRvIII in cancer progression and to explore its potential as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. Moreover, the development of EGFRvIII-targeted therapies, including vaccines and CAR-T cell approaches, is ongoing, with the goal of enhancing the immune response against tumors expressing this variant. Overall, the study of EGFRvIII recombinant proteins holds significant promise for advancing therapeutic strategies and improving outcomes for patients with EGFRvIII-positive malignancies.
