FOLR1

简介
FOLR1 Protein, binding to folate and reduced folic acid derivatives, facilitates their delivery into cells. It maintains high affinity under neutral pH but undergoes a conformational change upon endocytosis, reducing affinity and releasing folates in slightly acidic pH. Crucial for embryonic development, cell proliferation, and renal folate reabsorption. FOLR1 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant mouse-derived FOLR1 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
FOLR1, or folate receptor alpha, is a glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in folate absorption, which is essential for DNA synthesis and cell division. It is highly expressed in various tissues, particularly in the placenta and certain tumors, making it a significant target for cancer therapies. The overexpression of FOLR1 in tumor cells, combined with its limited expression in normal tissues, provides a strategic opportunity for targeted drug delivery and imaging. Research on the recombinant FOLR1 protein has gained momentum due to its potential applications in developing novel therapeutic agents and diagnostic tools. Scientists are exploring the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) that utilize FOLR1 as a targeting moiety, allowing for selective delivery of cytotoxic drugs to cancer cells while minimizing systemic toxicity. Furthermore, studies on the structure and function of recombinant FOLR1 facilitate insights into its role in folate metabolism and its implications in diseases related to folate deficiency. Understanding the interactions between FOLR1 and its ligands can lead to the identification of biomarkers for tumor diagnosis and prognosis. Thus, the research surrounding recombinant FOLR1 is pivotal, as it not only enhances our comprehension of folate biology but also paves the way for innovative therapeutic strategies that could significantly improve cancer treatment outcomes.
