Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    HER3

  • 简介

HER3, a pivotal tyrosine-protein kinase, acts as a crucial cell receptor for neuregulins. Neuregulin-1 (NRG1) activation boosts tyrosine phosphorylation and interaction with p85 subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. CSPG5 may also activate HER3. Its involvement in myeloid cell differentiation underscores HER3's vital role in essential cellular processes for normal development and function. HER3 Protein, Human (Biotinylated, HEK293, His-Avi) is the recombinant human-derived HER3 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-Avi, C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

HER3, or Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 3, is a member of the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases, which play a crucial role in cell signaling pathways that regulate cell growth, survival, and differentiation. Unlike other members of this family, HER3 has an atypical intracellular domain that lacks significant kinase activity, making it primarily dependent on heterodimerization with other EGFR family members, such as HER2 or EGFR, to initiate downstream signaling. This characteristic has drawn significant attention in cancer research, particularly in breast and other solid tumors, where HER3 is often associated with poor prognosis and resistance to targeted therapies. As a result, the development of HER3-targeted therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies and small molecules, has become a critical area of investigation. Researchers focus on producing recombinant HER3 proteins to study its structure, function, and interaction with other receptor tyrosine kinases, which can lead to a better understanding of HER3's role in tumor biology and the potential for combination therapies that might overcome resistance mechanisms. Furthermore, the characterization of HER3 and its signaling pathways can provide insights into novel biomarker development for patient stratification and personalized treatment approaches in oncology. The creation of HER3 recombinant proteins is thus indispensable for advancing our knowledge in cancer biology and developing effective therapeutic strategies.
