Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    IL-18BP

  • 简介

IL-18BP protein regulates immune processes by binding to interleukin-18 (IL-18), inhibiting its activity. This interaction positions IL-18BP as a key inhibitor of the early TH1 cytokine response, emphasizing its role in immune modulation and potential contribution to regulating inflammatory responses. IL-18BP Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived IL-18BP protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

  • Application

    SPRMSTBLIITCELISACELL ASSAYDRUG SCREENING

  • Biological Activity

1.Mouse IL-18BP, His Tag captured on CM5 Chip via anti-his antibody can bind Human IL-18, No Tag with an affinity constant of ≤1.78 nM as determined in SPR assay (Biacore T200). 2.Immobilized Mouse IL-18BP, His Tag at 1 μg/mL (100 μL/well) on the plate. Dose response curve for Biotinylated IL-18, No Tag with the EC50 of ≤22 ng/mL determined by ELISA. Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Mouse IL18BP Protein at 1 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Biotinylated IL-18 Protein. The ED50 for this effect is 18.89 ng/mL.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

IL-18 binding protein (IL-18BP) is a crucial regulatory molecule involved in the immune response, primarily through its role in modulating the activity of interleukin-18 (IL-18), a cytokine that promotes inflammation and immune responses. The excessive activation of IL-18 can lead to various inflammatory diseases and conditions, including autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory diseases, and certain cancers. Consequently, the study of IL-18BP has garnered significant attention as a potential therapeutic target for treating these conditions. IL-18BP can inhibit IL-18 activity by binding to it and preventing its interaction with the IL-18 receptor, thereby regulating inflammatory responses. Researchers have been exploring recombinant forms of IL-18BP to assess its efficacy and safety as a therapeutic agent. Beyond its role in inflammation, IL-18BP also provides insights into the complex interplay between cytokines in the immune system. Understanding the structure-function relationship of IL-18BP and its mechanisms of action can lead to the development of innovative treatments that effectively control excessive inflammatory responses while preserving important immune functions. Ongoing studies are also investigating the potential of IL-18BP in combination therapies, which could enhance patient outcomes in various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
