  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CD133, also known as PROM1, is a transmembrane glycoprotein prominently expressed in stem cells and certain types of cancer cells, making it a critical marker in cancer research and regenerative medicine. Its role in maintaining stem cell properties and regulating cell differentiation has piqued the interest of scientists aiming to understand its involvement in tumorigenesis and tissue regeneration. The presence of CD133+ cells in various tumors, such as glioblastoma and colorectal cancer, indicates its potential as a target for cancer therapies, particularly in the context of cancer stem cells that contribute to tumor recurrence and metastasis. Recombinant CD133/PROM1 proteins have been developed to facilitate the study of its biological functions and interactions at the molecular level, allowing researchers to elucidate signaling pathways and mechanisms of action. Additionally, these proteins can serve as valuable tools for developing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, including the creation of targeted drugs and vaccines. Overall, the ongoing research on CD133/PROM1 recombinant proteins holds promise for advancing our understanding of stem cell biology and improving clinical outcomes in cancer treatment.
