  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Interleukin-13 (IL-13) is a crucial cytokine involved in various immunological processes, primarily associated with the regulation of allergic responses and airway inflammation. As a product of activated T-helper 2 (Th2) cells, IL-13 plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of asthma and other allergic diseases by promoting mucus production, airway hyperresponsiveness, and the proliferation of tissue eosinophils. Research into IL-13 has increased significantly due to its potential as a therapeutic target for treating allergic conditions and inflammatory diseases. Recombinant IL-13 proteins are valuable tools in researching its biological functions and mechanisms of action, facilitating advancements in understanding Th2-mediated polarization in immune responses. These studies aim to delineate the role of IL-13 in disease states, investigate its signaling pathways, and analyze the potential for blocking IL-13's activity to alleviate symptoms in asthma and other related diseases. By utilizing IL-13 recombinant proteins, scientists are better equipped to explore the development of novel therapeutic strategies, including monoclonal antibodies and small molecule inhibitors that might disrupt its action, ultimately leading to improved clinical outcomes for patients suffering from Th2-driven pathologies. The ongoing investigation into IL-13 not only enhances our comprehension of its role in immune system regulation but also marks a significant step towards targeted immunotherapies in the realm of allergic and inflammatory diseases.
