Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    CD26/Dipeptidyl Peptidase 4

  • 简介

The CD26/dipeptidyl peptidase 4 protein is a cell surface glycoprotein receptor that induces T cell proliferation and NF-kappa-B activation. CD26 also works with FAP to promote pericellular proteolysis, endothelial cell migration, and invasion of the extracellular matrix. CD26/Dipeptidyl Peptidase 4 Protein, Human (HEK293) is the recombinant human-derived CD26/Dipeptidyl Peptidase 4 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with tag free.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CD26, also known as Dipeptidyl Peptidase 4 (DPP-4), is a multifunctional type II transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism, immune regulation, and various physiological processes. It cleaves dipeptides from the N-terminus of peptides, including incretins such as GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), which are essential for insulin secretion in response to food intake. Elevated CD26/DPP-4 levels have been associated with metabolic disorders, particularly type 2 diabetes, making it a key target for therapeutic intervention. DPP-4 inhibitors have been developed as antidiabetic medications, highlighting the enzyme's importance in glucose homeostasis. Furthermore, CD26 is also involved in T-cell co-stimulation and the modulation of immune responses, linking its activity to autoimmune diseases and cancer. As a result, the study of recombinant CD26/DPP-4 proteins has garnered significant interest, aiming to better understand its biological functions, develop novel inhibitors, and explore its potential as a biomarker for various diseases. Characterizing recombinant CD26/DPP-4 can aid in elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying its diverse roles in health and disease, paving the way for the development of targeted therapies and improving the management of metabolic and immune-related conditions.
