  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Syndecan-1, also known as CD138, is a transmembrane heparan sulfate proteoglycan primarily expressed on plasma cells and certain epithelial cells. It plays a crucial role in cellular processes, including adhesion, migration, and signaling. Syndecan-1 is involved in various physiological and pathological conditions, such as immune response modulation, tumor progression, and metastasis. In multiple myeloma, increased expression of Syndecan-1 on malignant plasma cells is associated with disease progression and poor prognosis. This has spurred research into Syndecan-1 as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for myeloma and other cancers. The development of recombinant Syndecan-1/CD138 proteins facilitates detailed studies of its structural and functional properties, allowing researchers to explore its interactions with ligands and other cellular components. Such studies may unveil novel mechanisms underpinning its role in cancer biology and immune system regulation, thus paving the way for targeted therapies and improved diagnostic tools in oncology. The recombinant protein can also serve as a platform for investigating the role of proteoglycans in cell signaling and for developing therapeutics that modulate Syndecan-1 function to inhibit tumor growth or enhance immune responses. Overall, research on Syndecan-1/CD138 recombinant proteins holds promise for advancing our understanding of its biological significance and therapeutic potential in cancer treatment.
